System and network managment tools

Section 1:   Servers and Virtual PC's These devices are normualy stored in somesort of data center in server racks. Servers and virtual pc's are primarely used by buisnesses that require to have large throughput of data whether that is customers using a website like amazon and the servers having to handel all of the data users are using or some sort of internal service in a buisness that has a lot of data and files transferued daily. These tasks are more of what is done by a server, So what is a Virtual PC? A virtual pc is basicaly just a PC but is virtulised inside of another PC or server.  So how can we manage servers and virtual PC's? We can use an array of diffrent monitoring and system managment tools and software to maintian these servers and virtual PC's. On a server it is very important as we need to make sure that there is no suspicous activity Cloud Storage Cloud storage is used by millions of people every seccond of the day as it is a very useful assest in ou

System maintenance and disaster recovery

Contingency plan We use contingency plans in system maintenance and disaster recovery as they are a reliable way to have a backup inplace incase anything bad or unexpected is to happen to a system. This could range form a range of events from systems stop working, system data being lost or even natural events like floods and earthquakes causeing lost to systmes. You should have more than one contingency inplace just in case one of the plans you have is not to work as expected.      A plan devised for and outcome other than the usual (expected) plan. its often used for risk management for an exceptional event.   Strategic planning defines a road map for organisational growth and provides guidance for day to day decision making. It allows leadership teams to evaluate progress and creates an oppotunity to learn and improve buisness processes and systems. Long-term planning requires a formal trategic process.       Code of practice Code of practice is a formal way of defining how somethin

Live System Managment

Configuring systems Configuring systems is a way of admins of a computer system to be able to control what actions an user is able to achive on a computer network. Systems have to be configured to prevent any intentianal or unintential attack on a computer system. This allows admins of a computer network to setup system wide configarations like IP filtering, website logging and even keyloggers to see if a user typed in anything malicious. Providing technical support to users Providng technical support to users is about giving support to a user on a computer system as they may not have the ability or even the ability to fix a problem them selfs. Technical is useful as if it is an issue that a user can fix then admins can show the user and then they know for future reffrence. However, not all support is as simple as this as it could be to do with the computer system its self and require a lengthy amount of time to set it up to allow a user to compleate a task. Managing user support requests

Support request reporting systems These reporting systems can come in many diffrent ways as they are used on networks and computer systems to provide additional support to users who use these systems. They work by a user contating or creating a ticket request to a system admin who will then hopefuly resolve the issue on the network or that system. There are 2 main ways in how these systems can be used: Telephone helpdesk - This is where the user uses a phone or VOIP services on the network or outside of the network to speak directly to either a 3rd , 2nd or 1st line support techniction to hopefuly resolve an issue they may have. These can be useful to a user as they feel that their issue is being resloved quicker and more effectivly as they have direclty spoke to a technician. However, they are not all so great as if this is the only way to contact someone their could be waiting times for others in the cue of the phone line as there is no other way to leave a message and then contact b

Justifacation And Evaluation

Justification In managing and supporting users there are many things in which we have to setup and use to make the process as easy and as practical as ever. There are many different considerations to take into place from what different users will be able to access on a network or system of computers to creating the infustructre to be able to managing all of the different users on the system. Throughout this blog I have covered four main topics which are:  System maintenance and disaster recovery  System and network management tools Live System Management Managing user support requests All of these different topics have been very useful in leaning and expanding how we can cover different systems and prevent different events from happening. In these 4 different topics I have been explaining and showing how and why we need different tools and activities to be able to help assist with day to day computer admin tasks. This information will be vital to the success of any success
